From hours of searching to building ElectroSeek: less time searching, more time researching

The problem electrochemical researchers face every day

Finding the right equipment for your laboratory easily turns into a second job: opening dozens of tabs, comparing incomplete datasheets, and waiting for replies that never arrive. Sound familiar? It happened to me more times than I can count. In the end, you often pick the same brand your lab has always used, not because it is the best fit, but because there is no time to explore alternatives or you simply do not know them.

Key takeaway: Finding the right electrochemistry equipment has always been slow and frustrating.

Why electrochemistry needs a smarter discovery and comparison tool

I kept wondering why our field did not have a tool like the ones we use to book flights or shop online. where you can see all options, compare them side by side, filter by what matters, and decide in minutes. That is the core idea behind ElectroSeek.

But ElectroSeek goes beyond simple comparison. It is designed to help you:

  • Discover new brands and technologies that you may not even know exist.
  • Compare products fairly, with unified specifications across manufacturers.
  • Filter by what matters to your application: current range, EIS capability, compliance voltage, cell type, and more.
  • Connect directly with manufacturers; no intermediaries, no hidden commissions.
  • And if you are not sure what to look for, get expert consulting from electrochemists who understand the science behind the specs.

Even the best filters are useless if you do not know what you are filtering for. That is why ElectroSeek combines smart tools with human expertise.

The spark: real lab bottlenecks

During my years in academic science, this problem was constant. One example: we needed an electrochemical workstation capable of operating at higher currents. We knew exactly how to purchase our usual potentiostats and electrodes, but when it came to finding a high-current system, we had no idea who to contact or which option was best. I spent days searching, comparing scattered information, and chasing answers; valuable time that should have gone into actual research.

Years later, as a consultant, the same questions kept coming from companies:

  • “Which product is best for this application?”
  • “Do you know a company that sells this?”
  • “Who manufactures this type of electrode?”

I realized it was the same structural problem, but now I knew exactly how expensive that inefficiency was.

Cost of the search itself: if a skilled professional spends about 10 hours searching, specifying, comparing, sending emails, and deciding, at €30–40 per hour, that is €300–400 spent just to purchase, not counting delays or opportunity cost. And the final choice is not always the optimal one.

From idea to project: how ElectroSeek started

  • November 2024: I decided to build a solution. I prototyped the concept, validated feasibility, and drafted a product plan.
  • December 2024: I needed a partner to complement my skills. That is when I met Lluís, a full-stack developer with a PhD in physics and product management experience, someone who understands science, masters technology, and shares the entrepreneurial spirit.
  • February-March 2025: we had an initial version to show to manufacturers. Early meetings confirmed real market interest.
  • July 2025: we released our first early-access MVP for manufacturers, signed vendor agreements, and started uploading products. The project has kept growing since then.

Mission: make finding and discovering your next potentiostat, electrode, or cell fast, simple, and frustration-free, with expert guidance whenever you need it.

What you can do on ElectroSeek

  • Compare multiple brands on one page
  • Discover alternative products and emerging companies
  • Use domain-specific filters
  • Contact manufacturers directly
  • Book a 1-to-1 consulting session if you need personalized guidance on specifications, setups, or data interpretation

Whether you already know what you need or you are still figuring it out, ElectroSeek adapts to your level of expertise.

This is just the beginning. We will publish practical guides, side-by-side comparisons, and industry trends for electrochemistry professionals. If you want new articles in your inbox, join the waitlist: no spam, only useful information.
