Description

This type of holder is used to mount two parallel flat and rigid electrodes in the form of foils, plates, meshes, and thin layers deposited on flat and rigid conducting or non-conducting substrates. The holder has wet front metal contacts made of a selected metal. Electrical contact with the external circuit is made from the same metal, but it is insulated from the electrolyte with PTFE. Background current from the wet electrical contact is typically negligible. Therefore, it can be completely submerged in the electrolyte. These wet metal contacts are interchangeable and can be supplied on demand. The distance between electrode surfaces is continuously adjustable. Also, the position of the holder shaft on the linear rail is adjustable. This product can be fully customized. For this purpose, please contact us. The electrode's maximum thickness is 4 mm. Tantalum, the default material, is highly resistant to virtually all organic and inorganic compounds. Its corrosion resistance is comparable to that of glass, making both unsuitable for use with hydrofluoric acid or strong hot alkalis. For such applications, we recommend using an alternative wet contact variant.

Application note The most important feature of this holder is that it allows for the installation of two electrodes in such a way that their active surfaces are parallel and opposite to each other. The holder enables the installation of relatively large electrodes. The limitation, however, is the weight of the electrode. The electrode is mounted on a single screw, so in extreme cases, the weight of the electrode may overcome the force of the screw and cause the electrode to fall out of the holder. The wet metal contacts are interchangeable because they may corrode over time due to high current flow under corrosive electrolyte conditions. To replace the wet contact, it must be ordered separately and then installed on the holder using pliers, bending its edges according to the provided instructions. The holder is designed to be used multiple times. The holder should be cleaned prior to the installation of electrode material.

Product includes 1 x 12 mm dia. holder shaft with PTFE-insulated electrical contacts 1 x linear rail 2 x electrode carriage 2 x metal (wet) electrode contacts 2 x electrode adapter cable - 1 mm dia. to 4 mm dia. banana F/M 1 x set PEEK M3, 10 mm screw, 5 pcs 1 x O-ring (FKM for aqueous or FFKM for organic electrolytes) ID 12, CS 2
