The Eight-Port Flow Cell is a specialized multicompartment electrochemical platform engineered for advanced bipolar membrane electrodialysis (BMED) and ion transport research. Built on the proven X-Cell modular framework, this innovative cell features 8-port end plates enabling up to eight independent fluid streams for sophisticated 5 and 6-chamber configurations. The Y-Cell delivers unprecedented control over electrochemical separations, membrane performance, and ion recovery processes, making it ideal for researchers developing next-generation acid and base production, desalination, and resource recovery technologies.

  • Eight-Port End Plate Design: Enables up to eight independent fluid streams for complex multicompartment experiments with independent chamber control.
  • 5 and 6-Chamber Flexibility: Purpose-built for the most common BMED configurations, allowing researchers to investigate ion transport phenomena and membrane selectivity.
  • Modular and Stackable Architecture: Fully compatible with the X-Cell framework, enabling seamless scaling from lab-scale to pilot-scale studies without custom engineering.
  • Asymmetric Chamber Geometry: Flexible gasket system (PTFE, EPDM, VITON) allows customization of anode, cathode, and middle chamber thicknesses for optimized concentration polarization control.

  • Broad Chemical Compatibility: Available with PEEK or PTFE flow bodies and multiple current collector materials (Copper, Gold-coated Titanium, Nickel, Platinum-coated Titanium) for diverse electrochemical applications
