Keeping in the electrolyte may shorten its lifetime; the electrode operates well as long as there is at least ¼ of the solution in the electrode tube. Before use, rinse it with deionised water. If air bubbles are present around the porous frit, flick the tip several times to remove them. For cleaning, use detergent, alcohols or acetone and rinse it with deionised water. This reference electrode cannot be re-filled. Despite mercury-based reference electrode advantages, it's essential to note that the use of mercury-based reference electrodes has raised environmental concerns due to the toxicity of mercury. Please use it responsibly to prevent environmental contamination and harm to human health. When it is no longer suitable for use, dispose according to local regulations.
