The X-Stack is a modular, multi-cell electrochemical assembly engineered for comprehensive stack-level diagnostics and component optimization in alkaline, AEM, and PEM electrolysis systems. This robust platform supports systematic electrode/GDL thickness variation studies (≥ 1 mm) and enables researchers to investigate bipolar plate performance, membrane behavior, and multi-cell interactions in a controlled laboratory environment, with a design focused on balancing shunt currents and hydraulic pressure loss and allowing for individual cell voltage monitoring.
