The Advanced Flow Field Stack System is a specialized multi-cell electrochemical platform engineered for thin electrode/GDL setups and flow field optimization in cutting-edge electrolysis applications. This innovative stack features interdigitated flow field bipolar plates that enable precise control of fluid dynamics, mass transport, and electrochemical kinetics at the stack level, supporting electrode/GDL thicknesses down to almost 0 mm. The platform is purpose-built for researchers investigating electrode material innovations, flow field geometries, and stack efficiency in various electrolysis systems, with an advanced design that minimizes shunt currents while maximizing electrochemical performance.

  • Ultra-Thin Electrode/GDL Support: Accommodates electrodes < 1 mm thickness, enabling investigation of novel electrode materials and catalyst-coated substrates.
  • Interdigitated Flow Field Design: Elevated flow field geometry (1.2 mm extension) provides superior mass transport control and uniform current distribution across thin electrodes.
  • Nine-Cell Scalability: Supports up to nine cells for stack-level performance validation and pilot-scale demonstrations without requiring custom engineering.
  • Individual Cell Diagnostics: Enables real-time cell voltage monitoring on flow field bipolar plates for detailed electrochemical analysis and fault detection.
  • Versatile Material Compatibility: Available with multiple bipolar plate materials (Nickel, Titanium, Stainless Steel, Platinum-coated Titanium) and current collector configurations for diverse research needs.
  • Corrosion-Resistant Construction: PEEK flow bodies and specialized gasket systems ensure reliable operation across wide pH ranges and temperature conditions (up to 95°C).
