Stationary solution voltammetry cell for simultaneous electrochemical response and QCM sensing. Developed for Stanford Research Systems QCM200 (5 MHz QCM) system. The QCM EC cell is mounted on the Crystal Holder head while counter and/or reference electrodes are mounted in the top casing (2- or 3-electrode setup).
A thin film of measured material is deposited directly on top of the QCM sensor (QCM25 Crystal Oscillator). Cell elements are glass and PEEK; compatible with aqueous (FKM O-Rings) and organic (FFKM O-Rings) electrolytes. Gas-tight construction.
Application note
The reference electrode tip should be placed close to the QCM sensor surface (3-5 mm) to ensure negligible potential drop for low-current experiments. Various auxiliary electrodes are suitable including metal wire, metal foil, and graphite rod electrodes. Gas bubbling must be stopped prior to experiment.
