Price: On Request

Description

The CompreFrame is a pressure frame for studying solid-state electrolytes, solid-state batteries, and small pouch cells under pressure and temperature control when used with the optional H- or HC-Add-On. As the little brother of the CompreDrive, it provides a versatile setup to operate test cells under precisely adjusted stack pressure and active temperature control.

  • High-precision pressure adjustment and temperature control
  • Broad accessible stack-pressure and temperature range
  • For operating innovative test cell designs from coin-cell sized samples to small pouch cell formats
  • On-demand: dilatation measurement, e.g. during cycling of pouch cells
  • Powerful, trend-setting control software ensuring almost fully automated test procedure (force manually applied)

Typical applications

The CompreFrame can be used to operate the test cells CompreCell 6/12, CompreCell DP and CompreCell Pouch. A broad range of applications is accessible:

  • Cycling of solid-state batteries at precisely adjusted stack pressure and under active temperature control
  • Cycling of pouch cell formats with lithium-ion battery or solid-state battery chemistry at precisely adjusted stack pressure and under temperature control
  • Pressure- and temperature-dependent investigation of a solid-state electrolyte's conductivity
  • Stripping-plating experiments under actively controlled stack pressure
  • Dilatation monitoring during cycling of pouch cells

Detailed description

The CompreFrame is a cell stand for all types of CompreCells (CompreCell 6/12, CompreCell DP and CompreCell Pouch) enabling very precise manual pressure application to solid electrolyte powders, pellets, all-solid-state batteries (ASSB), and pouch cells.

A display unit always shows the current force, making stand-alone operation possible. The force and sample temperature can also be recorded and monitored using the included CompreDriveControl software.

The CompreFrame offers automated temperature control, if used with the optional H- or HC Add-On. Different pressure sensors are available for best accuracy. If other spring assemblies should be required, please contact rhd instruments to discuss customization options.

Key features

  • High quality setup for solid-state research
  • Compatibility with all test cells with prefix CompreCell
  • Airtight measuring cells allow for the handling of sensitive samples outside of a glovebox
  • Large range of applicable force up to 32 kN
  • Large range of sample temperature: RT ... 250 °C with H-Addon (not included, only for cylindrical CompreCells, max. T depends on sleeve material) or -40 °C .... 250 °C with HC-Addon and suitable Thermostat (both not included, only for cylindrical CompreCells, max. T depends on sleeve material)
  • Universal compatibility with all potentiostats, galvanostats and battery cyclers
  • Various capabilities for inter-device communication in hardware and software for almost completely automated electrochemical routines with most potentiostat/galvanostat manufacturers
  • Stand-alone operation possible
